Description

Become an integral part of this groundbreaking curriculum in Washington State!

Pacific Education Institute (PEI) is recruiting 5th grade and High School teachers to pilot our food waste storylines that address climate change. Each storyline incorporates the following elements: NGSS aligned 3-Dimensional instruction, Indigenous ways of knowing, locally relevant activities, and solution oriented learning based on reseach from Project Drawdown.

This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes: a two-day workshop (support available for teachers traveling long distances), piloting the storyline, collection and scoring submission of student work and a follow-up video conference to check-in on progress and provide feedback - February 11, 2020.

This workshop is for 5th grade and High School classroom teachers - grade level teams are encouraged.

  • Sub reimbursement is provided up to $150 per day.
  • A $150 implementation stipend is available for those that pilot the storyline in their classroom, attend the video conference follow-up, and collect/submit student assessment data.
  • 12 STEM Washington State approved clock hours are available to teachers attending both days.
